Volunteer for Smithsonian Sleepovers at the Natural History Museum!

THIS EVENT IS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2025 FROM 6:00-11:00PM

OVERVIEW:

Join us for an unforgettable night of fun and learning at one of the world's most iconic museums! As a volunteer, you'll help bring the magic of the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum to life during the Smithsonian Sleepovers event. Engage with young adventurers (ages 8-14) as they explore the wonders of our planet!

Volunteer Duties Include:

Setting up activity stations and supplies

Leading games, crafts, and educational demonstrations

Assisting with scavenger hunts and other learning activities

Cleaning up and loading out activities at the end of the night (around 11pm)

Flexibility for last-minute changes and assignments

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Good communicator, patience and good humor. Must be able to read and follow written instructions on how to present the activity and encourage participation by kids and their adults.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

On site orientation is given at the start of each volunteer shift (6:00pm, at Natural History Museum Ocean Cafe)
